Lady Gaga Returning To 'SNL' As Performer and Host
Lady Gaga has been everywhere these days, and soon, she'll be taking the "Saturday Night Live" stage for a third time. The 27-year-old pop star will be doing double duty though, as she is set to host and perform during an "SNL" episode this fall.
According to TVLine, Gaga is supposedly returning for the 39th season of the live NBC sketch comedy show, where she will both host and perform songs off her upcoming fourth studio album, "ARTPOP." NBC declined to comment, as the fall lineup of hosts and performers is still being finalized.
Gaga previously appeared on the show in 2009 and 2011 as the musical guest. She also appeared in several sketches with the respective hosts, Ryan Reynolds and Justin Timberlake. One memorable skit had the pop star pitted against veteran pop star Madonna.
In her 2011 appearance, she was featured in a Justin Timberlake and Andy Samberg digital short entitled "3-Way (The Golden Rule)," which was a follow-up to their hit comedy tune "D--k in a Box."
Aside from her TV appearances, Gaga will also be seen on the big screen for the first time in Robert Rodriguez's "Machete Kills," which premieres Oct. 11. Gaga will play La Chameleón in the follow-up to 2010's "Machete." The campy action film's all-star cast also includes Danny Trejo, Michelle Rodriguez, Jessica Alba, Sofia Vergara, Demian Bichir, Mel Gibson, Antonio Banderas and Charlie Sheen as President of the United States. Gaga will also have an upcoming role in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For," which is set to be released Aug. 22, 2014.
Gaga's most recent TV appearance was on Sunday, when her hour-long iTunes Festival performance in London was broadcast live. The singer performed seven new songs from her "ARTPOP," including a song in which she raps with T.I. Gaga will perform her latest single "Applause" on "Good Morning America" on Sept. 9.
"Applause" currently sits at No. 4 on Billboard's Hot 100 Chart. "ARTPOP" is set to be released Nov. 11.
