TMZ is usually a website for all the latest celebrity and sports news. It often breaks stories first with its research and aggressive photographers. And, TMZ thought it had a big break through when it announced that it had exclusive photos of the next iPhone Friday morning.

However, other websites have proven that TMZ's excitement and leaked photos are almost definitely not an iPhone 6 and rather just an Android clone.

TMZ posted a story entitled "Apple iPhone 6 New Pics, Drool Geeks!" Friday morning at 1 a.m. PDT.

They said that somehow an iPhone 6 was smuggled out of a Foxconn factory in China by an ex-employee.

The folks over at 9to5Mac decided to calm down all of the excitement and post a story of their own, insisting that the photos that were allegedly leaked were not photos of the next iPhone, but were photos of an Android device (clone) disguised as an iPhone, that seems to be running Apple's iOS operating system.

9to5Mac notes that the pictures shown by TMZ depict a phone that is running iOS 7. That doesn't make much sense because it is almost guaranteed that the new iPhone will run iOS 8.

So, if you were up early and saw the TMZ posting, maybe you were excited. It didn't take long for 9to5Mac and several other websites to prove them wrong though.

9to5Mac expects Apple to officially announce the next iPhone at a special event on Sept. 9.

When do you think the new iPhone will be available for sale online and in stores?
