'Marvel Universe Live!' Review: Thriller Stuns Fans with Stunts
Spoiler Alert**
"Marvel Universe Live!" has made its debut and fans couldn't be any happier. Super heroes have taken over the box office, and now they are taking our stages as well. Featuring more than 25 super heroes and villains, the two-hour show touring the country is proving to be the icing on the cake for Marvel and fans.
The show is a total thriller with motorcycle stunts, explosions, amazing graphics, people on fire, flying and choreographical (yet awesome) butt-kicking. Not to mention, the performance of Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Ms. Marvel, Black Widow, Bruce Banner, Spider-Man, Wolverine, Storm and Cyclops to name a few.
This is a big deal for Marvel fans who, for the first time, get to see the X-Men and Spider-Man characters interact with The Avengers, live. Because of film restrictions within the companies, these characters will never be featured in one another's movies, but since Marvel Live is based on the comics, everyone gets to experience the sensational character crossover.
I caught the show at Brooklyn's Barclays Center in New York City at 1 p.m., so I sat in with lots of children. No worries. There was not a shameful bone in my body since Marvel has become so huge many adults filled the stadium as well.
It was a total Broadway show. Marvel Universe Live was organized, well rehearsed and exciting at every moment. The story featured everyone's favorite Asgardian villain Loki, Spider-Man's enemies the Sinister Six, Iron Man villain Extremis, Captain America's enemy Red Skull and Madame Hydra and more.
When you attend a live show, the subconscious you is on the look out for a stunt fail or some type of mistake. Sorry, not in this show. The transition within scenes went smoothly and even mechanical Hulk did a great job in his smashing. The show is an overall success, and judging by the busy memorabilia tables after the show, everyone seemed to have enjoyed themselves.
Do you refuse to take my word for it? Go see Marvel Universe Live for yourself and tell us what you thought about it. Meanwhile, check out the video below.
