'Criminal Minds' Season 10 Spoilers: Actress Alicia Coppola Cast in Guest Star in 'Criminal Minds'
Fans of "Criminal Minds" will have a lot to look forward to, including a host of new faces, when the long-running series returns to CBS with Season 10 this fall.
According to TVLine, "Jericho" star Alicia Coppola has been cast in a guest role in the next season of the police-procedural program.
The "Teen Wolf" actress will appear in the fourth episode of the upcoming season as character Lisa Randall, the head of a Morgellons syndrome support group who's "willing to go as far as she can to protect group members privacy."
TVLine also reported that "Dawson's Creek" alum Kerr Smith nabbed a guest role during the show's Oct. 1 premiere as Frank Cowles, a body-part collector.
Furthermore, it was revealed that Jennifer Love Hewitt will appear on the show starting next season as a series regular in character as Kate Callahan, a "seasoned undercover agent whose stellar work at the FBI has landed her a coveted position with the Behavioral Analysis Unit," reports Entertainment Weekly.
"Kate is smart, charming, and wise for her years," executive producer recently Erica Messer told TV Guide about Hewitt's character, an eight-year FBI agent.
"Her background is criminal psychology, and her passion comes from wanting to make the world a safe place. She's had a lot of personal loss that makes her a patriot and a nurturing figure to those in her personal and work families."
Messer also hinted about the upcoming season, telling TVLine, "You see [Kate] doing something you don't see our team ever doing, which is schmoozing with a bad guy, working undercover to take a pedophile down. We've never seen our team pretend to like a criminal, so right off the bat she's different in that way."
Back in May, Season 9 ended with a shocking twist when one of the main characters, Alex Blake, made a sudden exit.
From the previews, it appeared that Spencer Reid's life would be in jeopardy after he was shot in the neck. However, he managed to recover from his gunshot wound. Blake was forced to quit her job on the FBI's elite Behavioral Analysis Unit (BAU) after being traumatized by the shooting.
The season of premiere of "Criminal Minds" will air on Oct. 1 on CBS.
