While promoting his new film, "Chinese Zodiac" this week, Jackie Chan opened up about his decision to slow down on filming future action movies and revealed why he turned down the opportunities to star in the films "Expendables 4," "Rush Hour 4" and "Drunken Master 3."

Chan explained to Den of Geek that "Chinese Zodiac" might be his last action film because of the excessive physical strain action filming creates.

"I can tell I'm not young anymore because I got hurt in ['Chinese Zodiac'] -- a painting fell down and almost crushed my back. Boom. Then of course, I pretend nothing's wrong. I just sit to one side. Suddenly, something comes into my mind: 'I don't want to sit in a wheelchair for the rest of my life,'" he said.

But naturally, Chan, who has spent his entire career shooting action films, admitted that giving up action films completely might be out of the question.

"When I was at the Cannes Film Festival, and people asked me about it [retiring], I started talking a little bitand then said, 'It's [Chinese Zodiac] my last BIG action movie.' Because I still love action. I keep testing myself. I believe that for the next five years I can still keep going, I can still move. I'm just counting to see how far I can go," the 60-year-old actor said.

Though Chan believes that he can "still keep going" in regards to action filming, he has decided to not be a part of the films "Expendables 4." Chan revealed that he would rather do an exclusive movie with Sylvester Stallone instead of making a cameo in the upcoming movie.

"This morning I did hear -- the office called -- Sly [Stallone] wants me for 'Expendables 4.' I said OK because they already asked me to be in two and three, but I refused. Well, I didn't refuse, but I said, 'Sly, can't we just do you and me?' Not just a bunch of people and me only coming out for five minutes. Because then the audience is, 'Oh!' and then I'm gone," Chan told Den of Geek. "So if I'm in 'Expendables 4,' I want it to be me and him -- then it might be interesting. Otherwise you just come out for five minutes."

In a separate interview with IGN, Chan named his dislike for the scripts as his reason for turning down "Rush Hour 4" and "Drunken Master 3."

"I believe after 'Drunken Master 2' -- stop -- better than we make no more. Unless we have a better script. Just like lately they want to make 'Rush Hour 4.' I said, 'No, show me the script first. I don't need another Rush Hour 4. You need Rush Hour 4. Show me the script.' I don't want to do a rubbish script just because they want to make the movie," he told IGN.
