Neymar proved that the back injury he sustained during the 2014 FIFA World Cup is now a thing of the past after making an impressive return for Barcelona on Monday.

Neymar, who sustained a broken vertebra while playing for Brazil in the World Cup, scored two goals, helping Barcelona score a dominating 6-0 win in a friendly against Club Leon at Camp Nou.

The 22-year-old Brazilian striker, who scored both goals in the first half, was only given clearance to play hours before the match, which also marked the debut of new signing Luis Suarez.

Suarez played his first game in an FC Barcelona uniform after also getting clearance from the Court of Arbitration for Sport to play in the club's friendly match.

The 27-year-old striker was handed a four-month ban for biting Italy's Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup but was allowed to play in friendly games and participate in the club's training and promotional tours.

Suarez, who failed to score a goal on Monday, will not be allowed to play in competitive games until Oct. 26, but the former Liverpool striker insisted that he has already accepted his sanction.

"The ban is what it is and has to be accepted," Suarez said via the club's official website. "After what happened I was really depressed. I had to accept reality and then I apologized. It's in the past. It's necessary to focus on the present and on Barcelona."

New coach Luis Enrique had nothing but praises for his squad after the friendly against the Mexican champions, saying that he believes the club is already in good shape heading into their La Liga opener against Elche on Sunday at Camp Nou.

"We are in good shape as I expected and we will keep improving with matches and training," Enrique said. "In terms of football I would have preferred to have had two months more, but preseasons are what they are. We can't press by decree -- you have to be organized and targeted. It's important to have the ball, but it's also important to win it back as soon as possible."
