Emmy award winning actor Aaron Paul is best known for his role as Jesse Pinkman on AMC's "Breaking Bad" -- a role that he describes as "so good."

During his recent interview with the Guardian, Paul opened up about his breakout role on "Breaking Bad," his tough journey in becoming a successful actor and his upcoming projects now that his days on "Breaking Bad" are over.

Though Paul reveals that he will not be a part of "Breaking Bad's" prequel show, "Better Call Saul," the 34-year-old actor did admit that he misses playing "Breaking Bad" character, Jesse Pinkman.

"I love Jesse," Paul tells the Guardian. "I loved playing him, I miss him. My favorite job hands down -- and I think I can speak for everyone involved -- was 'Breaking Bad.' Everyone involved, from top to bottom, we were all running to work. We couldn't wait to get there, we were all very proud to be a part of it. It was so good."

The Guardian reported Paul was previously quoted as saying he was on board to revive his role as Jesse Pinkman in the "BB" prequel "Better Call Saul." However, Paul is now denying his prior claims.

Though Paul was unable to provide a reason for not joining the "Better Call Saul" official cast, he did reveal that he is still open to working on the show in the future.

"I wish I could tell you something exciting, but honestly there is nothing happening with me and that show. I would love to be a part of it. Who knows if or when that's going to happen, but that's definitely out in the open in the writers' room," he said.

Prior to his breakout role on AMC, Paul opened up about his struggles in becoming a successful actor. At the age of 27, he landed a role on HBO's "Big Love." However, Paul was still struggling to pay his rent.

"I was the lowest I ever was. I had a breakdown, not knowing what I was going to do," he said.

Now that his struggle days are behind him, Paul looks forward to working on independent filmmaking.

"My heart is in independent filmmaking," he said. "For me, it's where the fun, gritty storytelling is being told. Movies are either $200m epics or little passion projects," he said.

Though he mentioned no specific filmmaking projects that he's working on, fans can still look forward to seeing Paul acting in two upcoming movies, "Triple Nine" and "Exodus."
