MTV Renews ‘Finding Carter’ for Season 2
On Tuesday, MTV announced that its dramatic television series, "Finding Carter" is getting renewed for a second season.
"Finding Carter's" second season will feature 12 episodes that MTV describes as nothing but pure, "drama, drama, drama."
"The creative minds behind 'Finding Carter' did an exceptional job bringing this story to life and drawing our audience in," President of MTV Programming Susanne Daniels said in an MTV press release. "I'm looking forward to another season following Carter on her journey."
"Finding Carter" is the fictional story of main character Carter Stevens played by actress Kathryn Prescott, who learns that the woman who she believed was her biological mother, actually abducted her when she was a toddler. [Deadline]
Season one of "Finding Carter" delves into the life of Stevens once she is forced to live with her actual biological parents. Stevens' life is then turned upside down as she attempts to adjust to her new family, school, and the typical trials and tribulations of being a teenager. Stevens also vows to find her abductor Lori before the police arrest Lori and send her to jail. [Deadline.]
So far, "Finding Carter, " which premiered last month on MTV, has ranked as the No. 1 cable series with 12-34 year-olds and teens, Deadline reports.
Deadline also added that the teen drama series, "is averaging a solid 2.0 P12-34 rating and 2.2 million total viewers."
In addition to its high cable ratings, MTV boasts that "Finding Carter" has also found success online as the " top streamed new series on MTV.com and the MTV app with more than five million views in 2014."
MTV's "Finding Carter" airs on Tuesday at 10/9c. It's Season one finale episode will air on Sept. 16, Entertainment Weekly reports.
