George Zimmerman's wife has officially filed for divorce.

Shellie Zimmerman sat down for an exclusive interview with ABC and talked about the way things have changed over the course of the last year since her husband became embroiled in a murder trial following the death of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.

"I stood by my husband through everything and I kind of feel like he left me with a bunch of broken glass that I'm supposed to now assemble and make a life...It's just heartbreaking," she said.

"I think I'm realizing that I have been married to a person for almost seven years, and I don't think that I ever really knew him at all."

At the tail end of August, Zimmerman told ABC that divorce was "something I'll have to think about" but also mentioned that she still wanted to remain married and have kids.

She said in the interview this week that George has felt "invincible" since the not guilty verdict in the Trayvon Martin case.

"I have a selfish husband. And I think George is all about George," she said.

Shellie pleaded guilty last month to perjury charges from a 2012 bond hearing. She and her husband were trying to hide money and the couple talked in code over the phone while George was in jail. She was ordered to complete 100 hours of community service as part of a one-year probation sentence. She cannot possess, carry, or own a gun and must have permission to leave the country or change jobs.
