For weeks now the rumors that Beyoncé and Jay-Z are splitting have been circulating on the internet and growing stronger.

Bustle previously reported Beyoncé had gone so far as to look for an apartment, which seems too expensive to be just a new abode for her sister or mother, another sign leading some to suppose that she is really preparing for a divorce.

It was also said that Jay-Z's infidelity is a major contributor to the persistent rumors and that the couple received marriage counseling while on tour.

The two have been together since 2008 and their relationship has been stormy. For her part, Beyoncé is a very intelligent woman and she knows that news of her looking for an apartment will get out and feed the rumors surrounding the couple's split. She's known to be a woman who handles issues and scandals with class.

However, the rumors of the power couple splitting were shut down, or at least apparently, by Beyoncé herself during her performance at the recent MTV Video Music Awards where she received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, Parade reports.

It was presented to her by Jay-Z, who was carrying Blue Ivy on his hip. The sight of her family brought tears to the singer's eyes. Jay-Z quickly gave her a hug and a kiss on her head while Blue was clapping in deligh and received a kiss from her mom. Jay-Z and Beyoncé also finally locked lips in a family embrace that should be enough to put the rumors to rest, MTV reports.

Although there are still many signs that people in the inner circle need to see before they can say that the two are really heading for splitsville, it's hard not to wonder if something big is coming since the rumors of an impending split have reached a fever pitch.
