Marcos Maidana challenged Floyd Mayweather Jr. to fight "like a man" in their upcoming rematch on Sept. 13 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Maidana, who took a majority decision loss in their first fight on May 3, said that he will look to exploit Mayweather's weaknesses, but he is unsure whether or not the pound-for-pound will fight him toe-to-toe again like in their previous bout.

"I already know the mistakes Mayweather makes and I'll be ready to take advantage this time. I hope Mayweather will fight like a man and stand in front of me again. He says he wants to please the fans, so we'll see," Maidana said on Tuesday via BoxingNews24.

The former World Boxing Organization welterweight champion, who holds a 35-4 record with 31 knockout victories, will look for a knockout, but he pointed out that it will be a difficult task if Mayweather will run a lot.

"It's very difficult to knock out Floyd because he runs, but I'll do my best to make it happen," Maidana said. "This fight, I'm not going to respect him. I'm going to go after him and make him fight. There are things he does in there too. He should stop complaining. Come the 8th or 9th round, Mayweather is going to be so tired from punches, he won't be able to defend anymore."

The 31-year-old Argentine managed to pressure Mayweather early in their first showdown with his continuous attack, but Maidana admitted that he got tired in the latter rounds. The Buenos Aires, Argentina native vowed to be in the best shape of his career in order to maintain his energy level for the entire match.

"The times when he was able to get away is because I let him. This time, I won't get tired and I'll force him to fight. Stop crying like a little bitch and fight," Maidana said.

Responding to Maidana's recent tirades, Leonard Ellerbe, Mayweather Promotions CEO, said that Mayweather will let his fist do the talking on fight night, saying that he expects the unbeaten champion to have the best performance of his career.

"Floyd is extremely motivated to put on a spectacular performance," Ellerbe said on Wednesday via BoxingScene. "I think this one right here will be Floyd's best performance to date."

Mayweather, who will parade an impressive 46-0 record with 26 stoppage wins, will put his World Boxing Council welterweight and light middleweight titles on the line along with the WBO welterweight he won during their first showdown.
