'The Vampire Diaries' Season 6 Spoilers: Deaths of Damon and Bonnie Hit Elena and Jeremy Hard [Video]
Season 6 of The Vampire Diaries promises to be filled with new hookups and heartache when the series returns to The CW in October.
From the looks of the first promo for upcoming season, Elena will turn to drugs in order to cope with the loss of her longtime love, Damon.
As TVD fans can recall, Damon and Bonnie died as The Other Side was being destroyed in the epic finale of Season 5. As a result, they left their romantic partners in burning despair.
In a new video teaser, as Elena yearns to be with her lover, she turns to witch magic which causes her to have hallucinations of Damon. Ironically, in the clip, her hallucination of Damon tells her to move on.
Like Elena, Jeremy will also agonize over the loss of his girlfriend Bonnie and turn to alcohol in order to cope.
However, in the meantime, sparks will fly between Enzo and Caroline.
During a recent interview with First Coast News, actor Michael Malarkey dropped a few spoilers about the upcoming season, revealing that his character Enzo will have a makeout scene that will "make everyone go nuts."
"There was a makeout scene. I can't tell you with who, but that's going to make everybody go nuts. He's had a few slightly flirtatious scenes with a certain cast member," teased Malarkey, who was cast as a series regular in Season 6, according to WetPaint.
When asked if Enzo and Caroline will get cozy together, the actor said, "Not necessarily the makeout scene, but yeah, there's a few great little scenes coming up with Caroline. She's a joy to work with, Candice, and I think the dynamic between Enzo and Caroline is great. As far as love goes, I think Enzo has a little ways to come before he can achieve such a goal."
Malarkey added that "Season 6 is kicking off with a vengeance. I've read the first scripts so far and they're really good. You guys have a lot to look forward to."
To the dismay of TVD fans, TVD star Ian Somerhalder hinted that "It very well could be our last [season]," reports Spoiler TV.
"I think now that there's a finality to it, everyone's really realising that this is a very important time in our lives. We created some very cool storytelling".
Season 6 of "The Vampire Diaries" will return to The CW on Oct. 2 at 8 p.m. EST.
