Shakira Confirms Pregnancy; Is It a Boy or a Girl?
After much speculation and pictures of a perceived baby bump, Shakira has finally come clean.
The "La La La" singer has confirmed she is pregnant in the Mexican edition of Cosmopolitan.
"Well yes, the truth is, I am pregnant," she said in the interview.
The cover features the performer against a purple backdrop, where she wears a little black dress. The words "yes, I am pregnant" are prominent on the cover, and the interview promises to get inside the life of the iconic Latina.
Shakira did not reveal the sex of the baby, however. But she did talk about what she feared and how she has overcome it. And she reveals secrets about her professional life, notes TV y Novelas.
The rumors of her pregnancy started before she performed at the World Cup's closing ceremony, so plenty of eyes were glued to her stomach during her performance. Instead of wearing midriff-baring clothing, she chose a red one-piece that criss crossed over her belly.
Carlos Vives had previously confirmed the pregnancy, and said she was "very happy," according to International Business Times.
Raul de Molina, of "El Gordo y La Flaca," also told People En Español.
"She is indeed pregnant and the parents are more than happy because she is expecting a girl," he said.
Molina had gotten the news from a source who previously confirmed Shakira's pregnancy with her first child, Milan.
In Latina Magazine, which was out on April 2014, Shakira said that her busy schedule made it difficult to have a second baby. And if it weren't for that, she would already be pregnant. She'd even like to have eight or nine kids, she said.
Shakira jokingly called her future kids her own soccer team.
One person who is probably just as excited as Shakira and boyfriend Gerard Pique is Pique's mother.
There have been numerous reports saying that Pique's mother wanted more grandchildren.
Pique's mother was the only one pressuring Shakira to have more children because she wanted to have a grandson and a granddaughter.
