'Saturday Night Live' Hosts 2013: Lineup Includes Tina Fey, Miley Cyrus And Bruce Willis
Tina Fey will be returning to Rockefeller Center at the end of this month. Deadline has reported that the former "Saturday Night Live" writer and cast member will return to host the show for the premiere of its 39th season.
Fey has hosted three times since departing the live sketch-comedy series and has made various appearances, including her most notable parody of Sarah Palin during the 2008 presidential election. Fey's Emmy award-winning NBC sitcom "30 Rock" ended its seven season run in January. Fey will be joined by musical guest Arcade Fire for the premiere.
Miley Cyrus will appear in the Oct. 5 episode of "SNL," where she'll serve as both the host and the musical guest. The 20-year-old twerking sensation has hosted the show before, but this will be the first time she will perform. Twerking is to be expected. Bruce Willis is set to host Oct. 12, with Katy Perry as the musical guest. Perry has hosted and performed on separate occasions, while Willis hosted once before in 1989.
Lady Gaga will also reportedly be hosting and performing this season, however the exact date of her episode is unknown. Gaga has appeared as the musical guest twice before, in 2009 and 2011. She also appeared in a sketch with Madonna and a digital short with Andy Samberg and Justin Timberlake.
"SNL" has recently added new comedians to its cast, after long-time cast members Bill Hader, Fred Armisen and Jason Sudeikis announced they were leaving the show in May. Seth Meyers will be leaving in the fall to take over Jimmy Fallon's late-night talk show. Fallon will be replacing Jay Leno. New additions to the cast for Season 39 include actress Noel Wells, comedian John Milhiser, performers Beck Bennett and Kyle Mooney, and "SNL" writer Michael Patrick O'Brien, Deadline reports.
"SNL" returns Sept. 28 at 11:30 p.m. ET on NBC.
