As Chris Soules prepares to be the star of the next season of "The Bachelor," those who have already been in his position are offering advice.

Juan Pablo Galavis, the last and possibly most controversial Bachelor, took to Twitter to offer Soules his congratulations and some tips on handling becoming reality star.

"CONGRATS to the NEW Bachelor @C_Soules... Make YOUR decisions, follow your HEART, have FUN and ALWAYS stay true to YOURSELF #NotNegotiable," he tweeted on Wednesday.

Soules also got some encouraging words from Andi Dorfman, who eliminated him in the most recent season of "The Bachelorette."

"Congrats to the new Bachelor, C_Soules! So excited for you!!! Some woman is going to be very lucky if she wins that heart of yours!" she said via Twitter on Wednesday.

Despite notoriously not getting along, Dorfman and Galavis reportedly had the same advice to offer Soules.

"I've been able to remain friends with Andi and she encouraged me to just be myself!" he said in a Twitter question and answer through "Good Morning America."

Soules is a 32-year-old farmer from Iowa.

"First and foremost, I want to fall in love and find that person that is truly my soul mate," he told People magazine this week. "I'm willing to compromise, but I just have to find that person that I want to compromise for." 

Another member of "The Bachelor" franchise was expecting to get the coveted spot next season, however. Arie Luyendyk Jr., who Emily Maynard turned down in the 2012 season of "The Bachelorette," was a rumored favorite but didn't make the cut. A source told Us Weekly that Luyendyk is "pissed" he wasn't chosen.

"I'm not the Bachelor, have fun on the farm people," he tweeted on Monday. "Thanks for the kind words everyone. It wasn't meant to be, and I'm okay with it. Happy I can move forward"

Soules' season of "The Bachelor" is expected to premiere in January 2015.
