The day after Labor Day signals the end of summer in the United States, and looking back it seems like a dismal and disappointing summer for Hollywood, with more flops than winners.

Regardless, people are all looking forward to the long Labor Day weekend, which will give them the time to catch a movie or two with family and friends. There are several movies in different genres that will still be in cinemas for the Labor Day weekend.

"Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" is still showing, so if you want some lively action and some laughter in between and maybe reminisce a bit, then this is something you can add to your weekend itinerary.

For lovers of drama, the mellow "If I Stay" will be up your alley. It stars Chloë Grace Moretz, Stacy Keach, Jamie Blackley, Aisha Hinds, Joshua Leonard and Mireille Enos. It is the story of a girl caught in a life and death situation for one day and has to make a decision that will have an impact on the rest of her life. 

If you do not have any other plans, you can still catch "Sin City: A Dame to Kill," "The Expendables 3" and "The Giver." Or for those of you who have still not seen the surprise summer blockbuster, "Guardians of the Galaxy" is still in theaters around the country.

According to Celebuzz, here are some of Matt Atchity's picks for a Labor Day weekend movie-watching spree. "The November Man" is the story of an ex-CIA agent enticed out of retirement for one last job. It stars Pierce Brosnan, Luke Bracy, Bill Smitrovich and Olga Kurylenko.

If you want something scary, check out "As Above So Below," which tells the story of a group of explorers that went into the catacombs under the streets of Paris, which turns into a trip of terror and madness. The movie stars Ben Feldman and Perdita Weeks.

"The Congress" creates a fictionalized version of Robin Wright -- an unaging, digital version of herself so she can star in future movies. It stars Robin Wright, Paul Giamatti, Harvey Keitel, Jon Hamm and Danny Huston.

Families can get loads of fun with the re-release of the comedy classic "Ghostbusters." The release, which celebrates its 30th anniversary, will surely bring back some memories.
