WWE Raw Results, Spoilers for September 01, 2014: John Cena Proves He's Ready for Night of Champions
WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off with Chris Jericho's "Highlight Reel" that was supposed to feature Randy Orton, but instead drew the attention of The Authority, with Orton bringing Kane, Seth Rollins and WWE COO Triple H to the ring.
The WWE executive declared that he would not allow John Cena to battle for Brock Lesnar for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Night of Champions, which forced Cena to come out to the ring and threatened to sue Triple H if he was taken out of the main event at Night of Champions.
Orton, Rollins, Kane and Jericho all presented cases why the should have title shots at Lesnar's championship, which forced Roman Reigns to hit the ring to argue he deserves a championship match. Triple H ended up declaring a Six-Man Tag Team match in the main event between The Authority against Cena, Y2J and Reigns.
WWE Intercontinental Champion Dolph Ziggler & WWE United States Champion vs The Miz & Cesaro
Ziggler seemed to have the tag team match in hand for his team until The Miz's stunt-double, Damien Miz-Dow, stepped into the ring, distracting Ziggler long enough for The Miz to hit The Skull-Crushing Finale to get the pin for his team.
Winner: The Miz & Cesaro
Naomi, Summer Rae & Layla vs. Eva Marie, Rosa Mendes & Cameron
In a match used to advertise the new season of E!'s "Total Divas" reality show, the match degenerated into a no-contest after all the divas started brawling in the ring when Cameron broke up a pin attempt by Rosa Mendes on Layla. Naomi, Summer Rae and Layla cleared the squared circle of the participants during the melee, standing tall despite no one having won the bout.
Winner: no contest
The World's Strongest Team vs The Wyatts
Mark Henry had Erick Rowan set up for The World's Strongest Slam and possible victory before Rusev, who watched the bout from ringside along with Lana, jumped into the ring and Super-Kicked Henry, giving The World's Strongest Team the DQ win. Luke Harper attempted to take advantage of the situation with a steel chair, only to eat a WMD from the Big Show, who held off Rowan as well, considering he had similar intentions as his tag team partner of hurting Henry while he was down.
Winner: The World's Strongest Team via disqualification
Curtis Axel vs Jack Swagger
Axel managed to block "The All American American's" Swagger Bomb with a boot to the gut, which Swagger converted into a Patriot Lock to get the submission victory. After the match, Bo Dallas presented Swagger to people who were disappointed with his failures in beating Rusev at SummerSlam, declaring that these people are now "Bo-Lievers."

Winner: Adam Rose
Rusev vs Zack Ryder
Rusev made quick work of Ryder, stomping on his back before clamping The Accolade for the submission victory. After the match, Mark Henry made his way to the ring, looking for payback after Rusev's interference earlier in the night, forcing the European strongman to retreat to safer ground.
Winner: Rusev
Stephanie McMahon came out to the ring and told the crowd she would reward Nikki Bella with a title shot at WWE Divas Champion Paige's title. Brie Bella came out to try to talk sense into her sister before AJ Lee interrupted the family reunion, angry she was being bypassed for a rematch at Paige's title. Paige, amused with everything going on in the ring, also came down to the ring to remind everyone that she was still champion, no matter who got a championship bout. Nikki and Brie continued their argument, with Nikki demanding that Brie quit being a part of the WWE. Brie proceeded to shove Nikki right into Paige before leaving the ring, forcing the champ to drop her title belt. With title on the ground, AJ picked it up and skipped around with the title before McMahon demanded she relinquish possession of the belt. McMahon handed the belt back to Paige, but the member of The Authority did not seem amused by any of the events that had occurred in the ring.
Goldust vs Jimmy Uso
Goldust and Stardust attempted to apologize to the Usos about their attacks on the WWE Tag Tag Team Champions in Raw and Smackdown, but the Usos were not trying to hear it, attacking the two weird siblings before the start of the match. Jimmy bailed out his brother, Jey, out of jam during the match Jey was brawling with Stardust. But the distraction was enough for Goldust to kick Jimmy in the head and nail him with The Final Cut to get the pin. After the match, Stardust and Goldust finished dismantling Jey Uso, smashing a chair onto Jey's injured knee against the ring post.
Winner: Goldust
Six-Man Tag Team match: The Authority vs John Cena, Roman Reigns, and Chris Jericho
The Authority managed to isolate Y2J for most of the bout, but Jericho managed to escape Kane's clutches long enough to tag Cena into the match, hitting Kane with the Attitude Adjustment. Cena proceeded to tag Reigns into the match, who Speared Kane to get the 1-2-3-count. After the bout, Cena confronted Triple H and Stephanie McMahon, who were watching the match from ringside, about his title shot at Night of Champions before being attacked by Seth Rollins. Cena countered and threw Rollins into the announcers table with an Attitude Adjustment to end the show.
Winner: John Cena, Roman Reigns, & Chris Jericho
