'The Fault in Our Stars' Goes Bollywood: Movie's Success Prompts Film Adaptations of John Green's Other Books, 'Looking for Alaska' and 'Paper Towns' [Watch]

According to Yahoo!, Fox Star Studios, which is based in Mumbai, will be adapting the highly successful "The Fault in Our Stars" into Hindi. The studio believes that the story will also have an emotional connection with the audiences in India, according to Vijay Singh, the CEO of Fox Star Studios.
He said that the original version in English was released in Mumbai two weeks ago and it is still running, which means that moviegoers are still coming to see the film. It has already made about $1 million in Mumbai. The CEO added that they were already thinking of doing a local adaptation of the movie before it was released in Mumbai.
The details of the adaptation are not yet available as they are still considering the cast and the director as well as the production schedule.
"The Fault in Our Stars" enjoyed worldwide success, raking in $263 million, Hypable reports. The movie was based on a novel of the same title by John Green and was directed by Josh Boone. It starred Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort.
Woodley played the role of a young female cancer patient. She met a cancer survivor, played by Ansel Elgort, while attending a cancer support group, and the two fell in love. Nat Wolff played Elgort's blind friend. Supporting roles were provided by Laura Dern, Willem Dafoe and Sam Trammell.
Due to the success of the film adaptation of the novel by John Green, some of his other novels, which are also popular, such as Looking for Alaska and Paper Towns, will also be adapted to film. In fact these two are already in development.
