'Glee' Season 6 Cast & Air Date: FOX Premieres Spoilers Ahead of Show's Final 13 Episodes
"Glee" cast member Chord Overstreet revealed that filming for the sixth and final season of Glee would start next month.
He said that the show's writers are already writing the remaining scripts prior to the start of shooting. He said it appears that he will be in every episode of the final season, which reportedly will have only 13 episodes with the majority of the cast will be back at McKinley High, E! Online reports.
TVLine reported that five new characters will be added to the show, although the official cast announcement has yet to be made.
Reportedly, "Glee" Season 6 will hit TV screens in 2015 around spring. FOX has released some new details about the final season. The main cast will be slimmed down and the plot details of Rachel's mission has been revealed.
Nine series regulars will be featured in Season 6. The main cast includes Dot-Marie Jones, Amber Riley, Kevin McHale, Matthew Morrison, Jane Lynch, Chord Overstreet, Darren Criss, Chris Colfer and Lea Michelle. Max Adler and Naya Rivera are confirmed to return to reprise their recurring roles.
After her failure as a TV star, Rachel Berry will be returning to Lima and searching for a new purpose in life -- predicted to be the rebuilding of the McKinley glee club that was ended by Sue. Will, Sam and Blaine, in the meantime, will be having new gigs in the city.
The show's ratings dropped last season and there was a lot of talk about why the show went in a different direction from what the audience expected. However, it is presumed that the cast and producers of the show are attempting to make the final season the best one ever.
The 13 episodes indicate that there will be lesser sub-plots, and the show will instead focus on the story of how Rachel gets through the mess she created for herself and finds her true purpose by rebuilding the glee club.
