Rihanna & Chris Brown Dating & Relationship Rumors 2014: 'Loyal' Hitmaker Hangs Out with Ex-Girlfriend's Father
Chris Brown reportedly hung out with ex-girlfriend Rihanna's father Ronald Fenty at the recent Summer Classic Charity Basketball Tournament, sparking rumors that the celebrity couple may get back together.
Despite the pair's highly publicized abusive relationship, Brown and Mr. Fenty have maintained their friendship, as they took a couple of snapshots together at Brooklyn's Barclays Center on Aug. 21. The friendly images see them wrapping arms around each other's shoulder.
According to Urban Islandz, Breezy was trying to get close to RiRi's father, because he was not able to get the Barbadian singer's attention directly. The sources revealed to the website that both men appeared to be having some deep discussions, presumably about Rihanna.
However, the sources added Rih has made it clear that she does not want to rekindle a romantic relationship with the "Loyal" hitmaker -- she was at the same game but kept her word by not interacting at all with Brown.
After Chris Brown's brutal attack on Rihanna back in 2009, Ronald Fenty said of the "New Flame" singer to In Touch: "I love Chris, man. He's got so much charisma. And he's always had so much respect for me. That's what I love about him. He's always shown me respect."
"I think everyone makes mistakes and they shouldn't be held to them forever. Everyone should be forgiven once," he added. "There's a lot more to Chris than the whole world knows. I know they love each other. They always have. She's happiest when she's around him, and as long as she's happy, I am happy and the whole world should be too."
Mr. Fenty also proved to The Sun last year that he is still on good terms with Brown. "I'm still his No. 1 fan -- I still like Chris regardless," he said. "They have a very passionate relationship but if they split up, it does not mean it's forever with them. In a couple of months, they'll be back together."
