Summer 2015 is shaping up to be quite a memorable season for movies.

Universal Pictures announced yesterday that the fourth installment of the Jurassic Park franchise is set to hit theaters June 12, 2015. The follow up to 2001's "Jurassic Park III" will be titled "Jurassic World." According to Entertainment Weekly, Colin Trevorrow is set to direct the latest dinosaur adventure film with a draft scrift from his "Safety Not Guaranteed" writer Derek Connelly.

Deadline reports that Steven Spielberg will produce "Jurassic World," along with Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley. Spielberg directed the 1993 original "Jurassic Park," which won three Academy Awards. The "Schindler's List" and "Saving Private Ryan" director was also responsible for the 1997 follow up, "The Lost World: Jurassic Park."

Not much more information about the movie has been released, such as who will star. Previous "Jurassic Park" franchise stars include Sam O'Neill, Laura Dern, Julianne Moore, Jeff Goldblum, William H. Macy and Téa Leoni. The movie is set to be filmed in 3D.

"Jurassic World" was originally set for a 2014 release. Universal's decision to push the fourth installment to Summer 2015 adds it to a long list of franchise revivals and sequels for the season that is less than two years away. Some of these expected blockbusters include the untitled "Man of Steel" sequel, "The Avengers: Age of Ultron," "Star Wars: Episode VII" and "Independence Day" 2.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Jurassic World" is the only movie slated for release that weekend. What do you think of the "Jurassic Park" franchise revival? Let us know in the comments.
