While celebrating the 30th year anniversary of "Ghostbusters" at the Toronto International Film Festival, 1984 original cast member Bill Murray discussed an all-female sequel.

Regarding the recent rumors that "Bridesmaids" director Paul Feig is planning a "Ghostbusters" sequel with female cast members, Murray told Access Hollywood.

"It sounds great to me. It sounds as good an idea as any other. There are a lot of women that could scare off any kind of vapor! No, it's a grand idea, I don't know who they're talking about, but it's a good idea, I would watch it. I mean, I love Robert Palmer's videos, so why wouldn't I love the female 'Ghostbusters?'"

The "Grand Budapest Hotel" actor also revealed to Toronto's The Star that he is in favor of the latest idea.

"I'm fine with it," he said. "I would go to that movie, and they'd probably have better outfits, too."

Although he is not involved in the project, Bill Murray even offered some casting suggestions for the comedy classic. He named his "St. Vincent" co-star Melissa McCarthy among other actresses, who would look great sporting the Ghostbusters jumpsuits and proton packs.

"Melissa would be a spectacular Ghostbuster. And Kristen Wiig is so funny -- God, she's funny!" he said. "I like this girl Linda Cardellini ('Mad Men') a lot. And Emma Stone is funny. There are some funny girls out there."

McCarthy has not been approached yet. However, she already likes the idea of working with the other humorous ladies on the rumored list.

"I think that somebody is really trying to do it, but nobody has talked to me about it," she said. "Listen, if the people I think are doing it are doing it, I must never question them."

"Oh my God, that's daunting. That's taking on a legend, a legendary movie. But I would do anything with those ladies, anything at all," she added.
