'The Boy Next Door' Movie Trailer Release & Cast News Update: Film Starring Jennifer Lopez to Hit Theaters in January
"Would you like to take a cookie for the road?"
"[Chuckles] I love your mother's cookies."
Jennifer Lopez stars in "The Boy Next Door," a psychological thriller of a woman who went too far and a teenager who couldn't get enough. Stars Ryan Guzman, John Corbett and Kristin Chenoweth join Lopez in an obsession-driven tale of a mother and her neighbor.
A scorned schoolteacher who is dedicated to her family and her career falls for the charm of her teenage neighbor. The mistake of a vulnerable night may be the end of the peaceful life she was used to. This boy doesn't only fall for his neighbor, he becomes obsessed with her to the point that he will not stop until she is only his.
The film is a mixture of the thrill of "The Fast and the Furious" and "Romeo and Juliet" with a grand twist. Exciting, mysterious and emotional, "The Boy Next Door" seems like the type of movie that will have you at the edge of your seat. It's not enough that Ms. Lopez is dominating the music charts; she somehow found some time to also give us three films next year, starting with "The Boy Next Door."
Ryan Guzman, who plays the teenage lover in the film, shares his experience with "Jen" on set. "Jen's treated me the same since day one, just with a ton of support. We've had a good time working with each other, and she really is super involved in everything. She knows what she wants, and knows what she's doing," raved Guzman about 45-year-old J.Lo. "So she'll be able to stop a scene and say, 'no that's not feeling right.' She'll call it out right away, saying 'let's do it again' and Rob [Cohen] really trusts her. I only hope I'll be able to reach a point where I have that type of relationship with a director later on. I'm still earning my stripes."
"The Boy Next Door" is directed by Rob Cohen (The Fast and the Furious) and written by Barbara Curry. The film hits theaters on Jan. 23, 2015.
