Gwen Stefani Hot New Album, Music & Songs: 'The Voice' Coach to Collaborate With Pharrell?
Gwen Stefani recently discussed working on her new solo album with Pharrell, as well as her plan to reunite with original band No Doubt.
It has actually been eight years since Stefani released music because she was busy with her clothing label L.A.M.B. "Right now I'm really all about the music. I feel like I've spent the last year really focused on fashion," she told MTV at New York Fashion Week. "I'm really thinking about music a lot."
When asked whether she is recording a follow-up to her 2008 album "The Sweet Escape" or regrouping with No Doubt, the upcoming "The Voice" coach insisted that she does not have to pick one over the other.
"At this point, I'm thinking about both. I can do both. And it's such an amazing time; so many opportunities," she said. "I'm going into the studio tonight with Pharrell. I'm going to be writing and also seeing what comes along my way. I've been recording things."
Stefani's favorite collaborator Skateboard P, who previously teamed up with her on "Hollaback Girl," "Can I Have It Like That" and "Candyland," had nothing but good things to say about the blonde singer and her forthcoming music.
"You'll never believe that she does not look her age, she doesn't look like she's had three children -- but that's the cool part, she is her age and she's had three children and she's killing it," he said. "When I tell you she's killing it, it's another level. Gwen is somewhere else."
"The last time I said this about Miley [Cyrus], everyone was like, 'What? That's Hannah Montana,' and I'm like, 'What? I'm trying to tell you.' I mean, only because I've heard it not because I have those ears or I know -- I don't know anything," he added. "All I know is what I feel and what I'm convicted by and I can tell you that Gwen is on something else right now."
