iPhone 6 Release, Plans, and News: Sprint Improves Buyback Program With Price Match
Apple announced its new iPhone on Tuesday, which means that cell phone companies are getting ready for an influx of upgrades.
Before Apple's announcement, Sprint announced that it's buyback program is better than ever.
Sprint has said it would match or beat other companies' trade-in offers.
The company also boasted having the longest trade-in program, as well as one of the best ones.
"For the past three years, Sprint has been recognized by Compass Intelligence, a leading market analytics and consulting firm, as having the best phone trade-in program among all major U.S. carriers," said Sprint in a press release.
Sprint believes its improved buyback program will only help set them apart from their competitors.
On Monday, it started offering an instant in-store credit of as much as $300 that could go toward new phones or the account.
Sprint also tried to set itself apart by explaining that it offered more trade-ins than T-Mobile.
"Sprint also allows customers to trade-in up to three phones per line at any time and five in a calendar year," the release said. "T-Mobile, on the other hand, only allows one phone trade-in per line and only allows customers to trade-in their phones when purchasing a new device."
Senior vice president of product David Owens said that price matching was the next logical step for Sprint. Owens also described the revamped program as taking it "to another level."
"Offering a competitive price match was the next logical step to ensure existing and new customers understood that we make our trade-in program a top priority and are willing to provide the very best value in the industry," Owens said.
The buyback program is already in place, which gives those thinking of making the switch an opportunity to do so now. The iPhone 6 and 6 Plus will go on sale on Sept. 19.
