Alicia Keys Hot New Music Video 2014: Singer Releases 'We Are Here' Music Video on Facebook [Watch]
Alicia Keys released a new music video for her latest single "We Are Here" via Facebook on Monday.
The Grammy-winning singer first reflects on the ongoing global issues. "Let's talk about Chi-town / Let's talk about Gaza / Let's talk about Israel," she sings over the powerful piano ballad sound. "Let's talk about Nigeria / And the mass hysteria." She then goes back to basics with a simple question, "Why are we here?"
Keys undoubtedly uses her talent to spark a change in the world and spread peace, love, unity and respect worldwide, as she belts out: "Our souls are brought together / So that we can love each other, brother / We are here / We are here for all of us."
The "Girl on Fire" hitmaker also posted a long message accompanying the visual, explaining how she ended up making the empowering anthem.
"The day I wrote this song, I was sitting in a circle of people of all ages and we were asked, 'Why are you here? Why am I here??'" she wrote. "This really it me on a deep level. I realized no one had ever asked me that question before."
"As I prepare to give birth to a new child, I can't help and think about the world I'm bringing my baby into," Keys continued. "No matter where we come from, when we see the state of the world today, we can all feel the growing frustration and desire to make a difference. And we all have a voice -- we just need to know how to make it heard."
Alicia Keys, who is preparing for the December arrival of her second child, also talked about her next album, which will feature 'We Are Here.'
"What I know for a fact is it's the best music I've ever done in my life yet and it's really exciting to be able to have this kind of growth, this type of opportunity," she told the AP. "The music's actually pretty much done already and so you'll be hearing some of it soon."
