Destiny PS4/Xbox One vs. PS3/Xbox 360: Guardian & Limited Edition Releases Contain Exclusive Expansions While GameStop, Microsoft and Sony Offer Upgrades and Discounts
"Destiny" is coming to store shelves on Sept. 9 for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
According to Time, Bungie's COO Pete Parsons admits that Halo DNA is very much present in Destiny. Even with the impending release, people are still very curious about the game and how the different versions compare against each other.
In terms of price, the standard version is $60 regardless of whether you get a digital or retail version.
GameStop is offering in-game exclusives such as an upgrade for the Sparrow if you order the game through their store. If you have pre-ordered the standard retail edition through the Microsoft Store, the company will send you a $10 Xbox gift card and guarantees timely delivery.
Sony is selling the white PS4 edition for $450 bundled with the game as well as several PlayStation exclusive in-game bonuses. Microsoft, on the other hand, will sell Destiny Ghost Edition including the usual freebies for $150 through retail.
The Limited Edition for PS4, Xbox One and Xbox 360 sells for $100 and includes upgraded packaging, a few in-game items, a star chart and a guide.
The Guardian Edition is available in digital format for PS3, PS4 and Xbox One only and includes starter content available in-game. The special editions of "Destiny" also include the "Destiny" Expansion Pass, which is sold separately for $35. The pass unlocks new missions for the story, arenas for cooperative and competitive multiplayers as well as several new armors, gear and weapons. It also includes two expansion packs, namely the "Destiny Expansion I: The Dark Below" and the "Destiny Expansion II: House of Wolves."
The PS4 and Xbox One versions will run at 1920 x 1080p. The versions for PlayStation consoles will have exclusive content such as a multiplayer map, cooperative missions, three ships, two weapons and class-specific gear.
At preload size, the PS4 version will take 18.6 GB while the Xbox One will require 18 GB of disk space. After unpacking and the game pulling down additional launch timeframe data, it could take about 40 GB of space total for both the PS4 and Xbox One versions.
