Better Call Saul, the prequel for AMC's hit meth series, is on its way to Breaking Bad Fans.

AMC is giving Breaking Bad's spinoff series a go, says Entertainment Weekly. According to an announcement made by AMC and Sony Pictures Television, a licensing agreement for the prequel is in the works.

"We're using the kind of storytelling that we did on Breaking Bad but in a really new way. When people think of a Saul Goodman spin-off, they tend to think in terms of a laugh-a-minute comedy, and we're going for something that has a very very unique tone. To play with a main character who has the unique morality that Saul Goodman does is going to be in its own way as much of an experiment as Breaking Bad was," Peter Gould, co-executive producer of Breaking Bad told Entertainment Weekly.

The one-hour prequel will reportedly center on the evolution of Saul Goodman, played by Bob Odenkirk, before he became Walter White's lawyer, says the Hollywood Reporter.

Since the Breaking Bad spinoff series is still in the works, the said prequel is yet to release an on-air date. However, reports are saying that Better Call Saul will most probably be an hour-long worth of drama with comedic hits. It might also show how Goodman first met Gustavo Fring, says The Wrap. The story may also start off in Illinois, Goodman's hometown and not in Mexico.

Breaking Bad fans are growing wary over the impending conclusion to the series which will take place on September 29. Meanwhile, Odenkirk feels like he has hit the jackpot.

"It's kind of like somebody asking you, 'Would you like me to give you a winning lottery ticket?'

'Well, yeah! I mean, we both know it's a winner, right? Sure, I'll take that!'

Playing Saul has been the greatest fun challenge of my life and I want to do that again. I'll be thrilled if I get to do it," he told Entertainment Weekly.
