The much-anticipated Frankfurt Motor Show 2013 has finally unveiled a parade of colorful and awe-inspiring cars at the trade fair grounds in Frankfurt, Germany. Among those exhibited were new concept cars from various automakers. According to Kelley Blue Book, here are the 10 top new concept cars at the Frankfurt Auto Show 2013:

Audi Sport Quattro Concept

The top new concept car that is the Audi Sport Quattro Concept was inspired by the automakers' legendary car, the 1980 Ur-Quattro. It packs a V8 engine, capable of 553 hp, coupled with an electric motor under the hood. Aside from speed, the Audi Sport Quattro Concept has rumor tagging along with its appearance in Frankfurt. The buzz is that a limited edition will be up for sale, but Audi is mum about it.

Audi Nanuk Quattro Concept

Debutting at this year's Frankfurt Motor Show is the Audi Nanuk Quattro Concept. This top new concept car is a result of the collaboration between Audi and Italdesign Giugiaro, the maker of one of the "coolest" Geneva debutant, the Parcour. The diesel-powered Nanuk has a V10 5-l engine, outputting 544 hp and 738 pound-feet of torque.

Volvo Coupe Concept

Inspired by the P1800, the Volvo Coupe Concept is the first in a series of three concept cars. Sporting a plug-in hybrid look - very far from the smaller P1800 - this top new concept car from Volvo outputs 400 hp through its twin-charged 2-l 4-cylinder engine and electric motor.

BMW i8

Already pumped up for its release come spring 2014, the BMW i8's presence in the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show was more on announcing its price. To sell for $135,700 excluding $925 destination and handling charges, it has the looks and specs of a true supercar. The top new concept car from BMW outputs a total of 362 hp at 420 pound-feet of torque from a 3-cylinder, 1.5-l engine and electric motor.

Mercedes-Benz S-class Coupe Concept

The Mercedes-Benz S-class Coupe Concept looks like it was heading for production with its seemingly real-world features. The power of this top new concept car comes from a 4.6-l twin-turbo V8 engine. The 449-hp S-class Coupe Concept also uplifts the Mercedes-Benz tradition of a pillar-free greenhouse and an SLS AMG gullwing coupe-like rear.

Porsche 918 Spyder

"We have kept our word," stated Wolfgang Hatz, member of the Porsche AG Board of Management in charge of R&D, according to a press release. This was in reference to the top new concept car's efficiency and performance. Equipped with a V8 engine, the Porsche 918 Spyder claims 0 to 62 mph in 2.8 seconds.

Volkswagen Golf R

This top new concept car from Volkswagen is the fourth iteration of its beloved Golf series. The VW Golf was initially launched with only 237 hp. But with every new Golf released, Volkswagen has made sure to pump up the horsepower each time. The Volkswagen Golf R now packs 296 hp under the hood. The VW Golf R also boasts an increase in fuel efficiency of 18%.

Jaguar C-X17 Sports Crossover Concept

The Jaguar C-X17 Sports Crossover Concept is a testament to the automakers' commitment to lightweight aluminum architecture. This crossover concept was inspired by the C-X17 concept and boasts a new infotainment system dubbed as the Interactive Surface Control which replaces the Flash-based system.

Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R Concept

A car that was designed to conquer both the racing track and the work road, this little, mean machine was designed and created by the automakers' top racing engineers. Specifically, this all-wheel, hybrid version of Toyota Yaris got its cue from the TS030 Hybrid racecar - yes, the one that competes in the FIA World Endurance Championship series.

The Toyota Yaris Hybrid-R Concept throws away the traditional battery pack to make way for a supercapacitor below the rear seats. The 300-hp, turbocharged, 1.6-l 4-cylinder engine is coupled with two 60-hp electric motors to create an output of 420 hp.

Infiniti Q30 Concept

The Infiniti Q30 Concept comes in a metallic shade that's geared toward the younger generation of car enthusiasts. Never mind the complicated details, the automaker wants the audience of this top new concept car to focus on its "harmonious contrasts and dissymmetric philosophy." The Infiniti Q3 compact crossover concept aims to evoke an "emotional connection with customers spontaneously" and, at the same time, compete with Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class.
