Destiny Gameplay Hacks & Mods: Youtube Videos Show Infinite Ammo Exploit on Xbox 360 [Watch]
While the game has only been released this week, players have already started hacking Destiny to create an endless shooting mod for the long awaited game. Videos of hacks and mods are up on YouTube, giving instructions on how to achieve unlimited ammo for example, allowing players to continuously shoot at enemies without having to reload or look for more bullets after emptying a full magazine of ammunition.
As seen in videos shared online, this mod seems to be applicable to all weapons, even the heavy arsenal, IGN reports. However, the uploaded videos were done on the Xbox 360 version, and it is not yet clear if the same trick could be exploited on other platforms. Furthermore, it is also unclear whether the mod can be applied in multiplayer mode since the video was demonstrated in the single-player campaign. Obviously, it would be unfair for other players online if this loophole could be exploited in multiplayer.
While the studio of Bungie, the game's developer, has not given its comment regarding the matter, those who have exploited and still plan on exploiting this trick could be running the risk of being penalized. GameSpot has actually contacted Activision, the publisher of Destiny, to clarify how they would be addressing the issue. According to them, they will be giving an update once they get word from the developers.
Destiny is hailed as the biggest new IP of the industry. Exact figures have not been disclosed since its launch on Tuesday, but early reports suggest that Destiny has already garnered about $500 million in revenue. The gaming website GameSpot has also posted a comprehensive analysis in their review of the latest FPS game by Bungie.
Nonetheless, this is just the beginning for the all-new shared-world shooter, as the game is expected to further develop in the months to come.
