'Va Por Ti' Telenovela Recap: Eliminated Contestant Returns, Julion Alvarez Stars as Guest
Stephanie Guzman returned to "Va Por Ti" after making a huge impact in the first week.
The 21 participants went head to head in six rounds. After each round, one contestant would be removed from the group if they failed to resonate with the judges.
Julion Alvarez was the guest judge for the episode, and his first performance even got judges Alejandra Guzman and Larry Hernandez dancing among the crowd.
The first group up was Danny Montejo, Ricardo Rivera and Arias Martin, who sang "Ya Lo Pasado Pasado." Martin did not make an impression with the judges, and he was on the chopping block.
Yesenia Hernandez, Jose Enrique Poyato and Jose Palacio sang bachata in the second round, and Hernandez was the one who faced the possibility of elimination.
Other people who were not saved by the judges were Virginia Stille, Michelle Lardiere, Espiridión Magaña, Paloma Carrasco and Geissie Torres.
Each round turned out to have a little twist.
For example, in the first round, all contestants sang the same song. In the second, they all sang songs of the same genre.
There was also a duet round, and the final round had the contestants singing with their mentors, so El Dasa, Jencarlos Canela and Dulce Maria all took the stage.
The set up of the second episode was very different from the first one, where people sang in groups of four and the three judges picked one person. The last one would be sent home.
This was the first time the teams went head to head.
During one of the rounds, the judges surprised everyone by explaining they would be bringing back Stephanie Guzman, whose touching story really drew in viewers. Toward the end of the show she performed with Julion Alvarez.
None of the captains picked Stephanie Guzman, but the judges were going to have her in the competition either way. This meant, though, that she would force someone else out.
The unlucky person was former "Nuestra Belleza Latina" contestant Yesenia Hernandez. She expressed sadness, but she tried to remain happy for Stephanie, who she said also deserved to be there.
