Why Does Hispanic Heritage Month Always Begin on Sept. 15? [VIDEO]
Hispanic Heritage Month runs from Sept. 15 to Oct. 15, and Latin Post wants to celebrate the accomplishments and strides Latinos have made.
Sept. 15 was chosen as the starting point for the celebration because it is the anniversary of the independence of five Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras and Nicaragua.
Additionally, Mexico celebrates its independence on Sept. 16, and Chile follows two days later on the 18th.
Stay tuned to Latin Post as we showcase Hispanic Heritage through music, food, film, sports and more.
