'The View' News Season Cast News: Jenny McCarthy Explains Why She Was Fired, Admits to Losing Wedding Ring
During a recent interview with Good Day NY, Jenny McCarthy revealed the real reason why she was kicked off "The View," Entertainment Tonight reports.
McCarthy explained that the producers wanted more diversity within "The View" co-hosting panel, so they decided to let her go.
"...they wanted to make sure the table was diverse. So they consider when Rosie was coming back it was too liberal and they wanted a conservative and they wanted a Latina, so they got Rosie Perez and their Elisabeth if you will, so that way it was a balanced table with more diversity," she explained.
Though she is no longer a part of "The View," McCarthy insisted that there are no hard feelings between her and the producers of the daytime show, Us Weekly reports.
But now that she's off of "The View," McCarthy revealed that she has yet to watch the show's newest season.
"I've been working, but I've heard people call me and say 'I like it,' 'I don't like it,' 'I like the set,' 'I don't like the set,' so I've been hearing mixed reviews," she said.
McCarthy's newest gig following her exit from "The View" is her new show with Sirius XM Radio that she described as being "wonderful" because it allows her to truly be herself.
"When I went over to Sirius Radio, they've given me a month spot to see if I liked it and it turned out to be a full-time gig and I start in October and the freedom to say what you want is wonderful," she revealed.
One aspect of her life that hasn't been as "wonderful" is the day she lost the wedding ring that her husband Donnie Wahlberg gave her for the newlywed couple's wedding recent wedding last month, McCarthy revealed to Good Day NY.
"I've already lost the ring. We were staying in a hotel and you can't have a wedding ring on... it's a little hard to get romantic with diamonds on your hand. I removed it and put it on the room service table and they came and turned down the room and the ring was gone... But you know what though? If you're gonna lose your wedding ring, you should lose it that way," she said.
