There are rumors that Google might unveil Android L, Nexus 8 and/or HTC Nexus 9 on Oct. 16, according to International Business Times. Google has not yet confirmed anything; so all the speculations circulating in the media are still rumors.

The features and specs floating around are based on a post on Nexus6Now.com, which reports that the casing will be made of a solid mix of polycarbonate and metal. This is based on the features of the HTC One M7 and M8 because it is already known that Nexus 8 or 9 will be built by HTC.

It is believed that the new device will have a super LCD display for images at a 16:9 aspect ratio for its Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440, based on the concept that Nexus 8 is the follow-up unit for Nexus 7 that was released last year. 

The camera installed on the Nexus 8 is said to be a major advantage for those who wish to take advantage of the tablet's large screen for pictures, featuring a 3MP front camera and an 8MP rear camera. This will also be backed by the ultra-pixel technology HTC is known for, which is designed to give pictures of a superior quality.

It is likewise expected that Nexus 8 or Nexus 9 will have enhanced and superior-quality sound, with HTC's signature Boom Sound speakers in stereo that are placed in front. This is one thing that will make using the Android tablets an extraordinary audio-listening experience. It will also do away with the need to have a companion speaker for the tablet.
