The multi-talented actor of TV, film, and Broadway Zachary Quinto shared his thoughts on Sylar in "Heroes," and his new TV and reality show projects. Will Quinto's Sylar be cutting open people's heads? And will he be putting back on the ears for Spock? Chances are that Quinto will probably need to travel at warp speed in order to get all of that work done.

Quinto revealed in an interview this week about his trepidation in returning to the role as Sylar in the NBC mini-series "Heroes Reborn." But, Quinto is more excited about his new mini-series "The Slap," and in mentoring young filmmakers in the reality series "The Chair."

The NBC rebooted series "Heroes" will be returning next year as a mini-series titled "Heroes Reborn." Unfortunately, Quinto, 37, is already ruling out his involvement in the project, CBS News reported.

Say it ain't so! Quinto believes that timing is a huge obstacle and a problem with committing to the series. Quinto also added that it was not right for him creatively. Quinto says "he's really interested in cultivating other experiences for himself."

"I'm not going to do it [play Sylar]," Quinto said, CBS News reported.

The "Heroes" fans will have to slap themselves in order to come to grips with Quinto's revelation. Quinto however is starring in a slap TV mini-series of a different nature. The NBC series "The Slap" stars Quinto, along with Brian Cox ("X-Men 2," "X Men Days Of Future Past"), Peter Sarsgaard ("Flight Plan," "The Killing"), and Mary-Louise Parker ("The Blacklist," "Weeds," "Red"), TV Line reported.

The eight-episode series is about how one man's punishment of another family's child explodes into a complex family drama. Quinto will play Harry, a married father who is somewhat pleased with his life, but he is always angry and yearning to pick a fight, TV Line reported. Harry picks a fight with a child by slapping him/her for misbehaving. The story reveals long held secrets, and it starts a lawsuit.

Cox is expected to play Quinto's father Manolis. Manolis is a stern yet generous man with "old world values." Cox's Manolis is also a peacemaker, TV Line reported. "The Slap" is based on a critically acclaimed Australian project, and it was written by Jon Robin Baitz.

From TV to reality TV Quinto is excited about mentoring. On Saturdays at the Starz network, the unscripted series "The Chair" follows two first-time filmmakers who must make two separate films based on the same original screenplay, CBS News reported. This is a series from the "Project Greenlight" creator Chris Moore. The viewers vote and choose which film they prefer.

The filmmakers are given almost $1 million to make the film, and the winner will receive $250,000. Quinto's production company Before the Door also produces this series, CBS News reported. Before the Door has produced the Golden Globe winning and Oscar nominated film "All is Lost" starring Robert Redford; as well as "Banshee Chapter" and "Margin Call," just to name a few.

In an interview about "The Chair," Quinto spoke about the project and working with these young and rising directors. The approach by these two directors, Quinto says, is about how either of them will take the story.

"Where will the points of departure be? How far will they go from one another?" When you watch these films, they couldn't be any more different. Yet, there is this kernel of the original story and the original characters and the reflection of what the story is in both of the films," Quinto said, Comic Book Resources reported.

From working on the small screen, in films and on Broadway, Quinto has now become a mentor of sorts for these up-and-comers. Quinto cites that he has learned by becoming a "participant in so many ways."

"I've had a production company for six years and produced a number of films. I've been developing a lot of material as I go. But this is a unique experience for me, being able to witness a transformation in both of these young artists, and to watch them grow and find their voice" Quinto said.

Quinto found them inspiring, and he was touched by their determination as a writer and director.
