While one former “Jersey Shore” cast member potentially faces prison time, another is celebrating a new addition to her family. Nicole Polizzi, known to the world as Snooki, announced she gave birth to a daughter, her second child, on Friday.
On Friday the “Jersey Shore” star took to Twitter and told her millions of fans she had given birth to a daughter named Giovanna Marie LaValle.
"So happy to let you know we had our beautiful daughter this morning Giovanna Marie LaValle. 6.7 lbs, full head of black hair & perfect," Snooki said via Twitter.
This is Polizzi’s second child with her fiancé Jionni LaValle. Both are 26-years-old and have been engaged since 2012, when she announced her first pregnancy, according to Us Weekly.
In a statement released to Us Weekly, Snooki’s representative confirmed that the reality TV star had given birth to a girl.
"We can confirm that Nicole and Jionni welcomed their baby girl Giovanna Marie LaValle at 4:28 a.m. this morning. Lorenzo’s little sister weighs 6lbs, 4oz. Nicole & her daughter are doing amazing,” the statement read.
In an Instagram post, Polizzi wrote, “Feeling the love from our boys, Lorenzo & Daddy.”
According to TMZ, the reality TV star recorded the birth of her child for an episode of her reality TV show “Snooki & Jwoww.” Though the most graphic scenes will not be aired, MTV still will air the intimate moment. No other people from the show’s cast were present, just family.
However, giving birth must also feel like a relief for Snooki. In an blog post she wrote on Thursday, Polizzi complained about being pregnant and wanting to give birth.
“Guess what, I’m still freaking pregnant. Omg! I can’t deal with this anymore. I feel like I’m going to be pregnant forever,” she wrote. “This time when I was pregnant with Lorenzo, I had already given birth so I’m aready [sic] a step behind.”
