ABC 'Shark Tank' Cast & Episodes: Season 6 Starts, Premiere Releases Judge Line-Up, Looks Back at Previous Season's Winners
ABC's number one hit series on Friday nights, "Shark Tank," has just started its sixth season. Season 6 premiered on Sept. 26, and some members of the panel of judges are back. The current season's judge line-up includes the sharp-tongued Kevin O'Leary, Daymond John, Robert Herjavec, Lori Greiner, Barbara Corcoran and Mark Cuban. There's a reason that these guys are called the sharks.
There have been a number of successful contestants that have made a deal on "Shark Tank," and there will be a look back at how their businesses are faring in this latest season.
For this season, so far the contestants that have been announced include the following:
- Amber Cell Phone Charger
- Hammer 'n Nails Salon for Men
- Bombas Athletic Socks
- Zipadee Zip Wearable Baby Blankets
- Coasterless Floating Coffee Mugs
- Las Vegas Wedding Wagon Franchise
- Roominate Doll House Kits
- Kronos Golf Putters
Featured updates for Episode 1 were the Target Deal with Lori Greiner and Mark Cuban and Simple Sugar Cubes.
For people new to the show, the contestants are aspiring entrepreneurs that pitch their products or business ideas to investors, the sharks, who might accept their business proposals and provide them with the capital for their venture. It can be a grueling experience, and if the sharks say that someone is out, they don't have any other recourse but to leave.
Just like how the contestants have their strong and weak points, the sharks have them too. Canadian businessman Kevin O'Leary is the toughest among the sharks. Most contestants do not want to deal with him. However, his caustic words offer the contestants insights into the reality of their finances or their company. There are good points in what he says to these contestants although some of his digs at the contestants are taken as too over the top. The favorite among contestants is Mark Cuban, the owner of the Dallas Mavericks, Magnolia Pictures and Landmark Theaters.
