GTA 5 PC Release Date, Features and Review: Grand Theft Auto V Online Petition Reaches 400K Signatures
Grand Theft Auto 5 has already dropped in stores, much to the delight of millions of its eager fans. However, there are still gamers who weren't satisfied with the release - PC gamers.
Rockstar Games has finally released one of the most awaited gaming titles to current-gen consoles today. Sony PlayStation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360 gamers are now able to enjoy a new chapter in the gangster action-adventure video game. However, PC gamers are still left without an official announcement from game developers and publishers as to when GTA 5 will be coming their way.
Because of this, PC fans have created an online petition asking Rockstar Games to release the fifth installment of the series on "the most powerful platform." Created by Mike Julliard of Toronto, Canada, the Change.org petition already has more than 400,000 signatures from all over the world.
The appeal writes:
To:
Rockstar GamesPlease release GTA V on PC. GTA games have been a large part of so many people's lives and it's a big shame not seeing the newest iteration of the game being released on the most powerful platform. Things like modifications have always been a HUGE part of PC gaming and modded GTA is some of the most insanely fun times you can have.
I hope you consider the release of GTA V on PC as it'll make many people very happy!
According to the video posted by Julliard on Youtube, the goal is to reach 500,000 appeal signatures, and this will hopefully change game publishers minds on a PC release date for the game. Watch the video below:
However, Rockstar Games co-founder Dan Houser said in an interview with IGN last November that the decision is not for them to make, but if is solely a business move - if there's a market for it, they will release the game on PC.
"Everything else is up for consideration. That's all I can give you," Houser said. "But we can do what we want wherever there's the appropriate business opportunity and chance to find a market. If that's on Apple we put something on Apple. Wherever it might be."
Notably, NVIDIA Senior Director of Investor Relations Chris Evenden revealed in the company's first quarter earnings call last month that GTA 5, together with other gaming titles, will be released to PC gamers this fall.
So far, Rockstar Games has yet to make more recent statement on the matter.
