Amanda Bynes DUI Arrest & Drugs: Was Actress on Adderall During Arrest?
Just when it seemed Amanda Bynes was on the right track, she has a setback.
The actress was stopped on Sunday morning and is suspected to have been driving under the influence, notes the New York Daily News.
"She ran a red light and stopped in the middle of (a) T-shaped intersection," California Highway Patrol spokesman Leland Tang said. "Our officer observed her, and she appeared under the influence. She was unable to complete sobriety tests, at which point she was taken to our station."
It is not certain what substance she could have been under, and toxicology reports would take at least a month.
TMZ reports that Bynes was under the influence of Adderall, which was prescribed to her by a doctor. The site also reports that because Bynes is no longer living at home with her parents, she is also not on her medication for Schizophrenia and bipolarity. She has also been allegedly smoking marijuana.
Bynes' conservatorship ended in September.
Bynes was released on $15,000 on noon of the same day. She will have to appear in court on Oct. 23.
It's been reported that Bynes' parents do not know where she is, and they found out about Bynes' arrest through reporters.
"I'm getting calls all day long. That's all I know," said Rick Bynes, who thinks his daughter might be in New York. "She's 28. She does what she wants."
In July 2013, Bynes was placed on a 5150 hold, where she was on psychiatric hold for 72 hours.
A source said that Bynes' parents are in denial over their daughter's mental health.
"Not only is Amanda in denial over the severity of her ongoing problems, but so is her family," a source said. "It's not a shock that she was picked up by the cops ... again. It was only a matter of time."
