The View Last Episode and Cast News: Rosie O’Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg Get Into Argument
On Thursday, Rosie O' Donnell and Whoopi Goldberg got into a heated argument during a commercial break while taping "The View," the New York Daily News reports.
According to the New York Daily News, O'Donnell - who refuses to wear an earpiece that allows her to communicate with producers during taping - was unaware that producers needed to cut to commercial break and continued weighing in on Thursday's 'Hot Topics' discussion about spanking children.
When O'Donnell continued to speak because she could not hear the producers, Goldberg - who often acts as a moderator on the live daytime show - abruptly ended the 'Hot Topics' discussion to cut to commercial.
However, O'Donnell quickly became offended that Goldberg cut her off and made sure to talk to Goldberg about it during the break, a Daily Mail insider claims.
"Instead of talking to the crowd [during commercial break], Rosie spoke directly to Whoopi in the mic that she 'hurt my feelings,' and that she was 'very upset by it' and 'didn't appreciate' what Whoopi had done," says the insider.
Goldberg then responded to O'Donnell by saying: 'This isn't the time for this, Rosie.'
However, O'Donnell continued to escalate the matter and went on to say, "Well I just don't appreciate you saying that you were going to do something and not doing it. It makes me upset and I just don't want to have to go through this."
After several failed attempts at trying to get Rosie to end the argument, Goldberg then fired back and yelled, " F*** it, I told you to leave it alone and you just don't want to listen. If you want to go there Rosie, I will dammit. I'm really sick of your s***!."
The Daily Mail insider claims that the studio audience immediately fell silent following the shouting match between O' Donnell and Goldberg.
'At this point, you could've heard a pin drop. It was like everything came to a standstill and Rosie finally backed down,' the source explained.
Despite their blowout, a spokesperson for "The View" told the New York Daily News that Goldberg and O'Donnell are fine and they are "back to business as usual."
"They had a misunderstanding and an exchange. They talked it out and they were back to business as usual," show spokeswoman Lauri Hogan said.
