On Thursday, Mario Lopez stopped by "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" to discuss his memoir "Just Between Us" in which he details his one-night stand with an unnamed pop star, his father's illegal activity, and his childhood stardom, Us Weekly reports.

When asked about his decision to write a memoir about his life, Lopez responded, "When a man turns 40, it's an important time to pause and reflect on how he got there, and to make a mature plan for the future, and what better way than to write it down?"

He continued, "People have asked me a bunch of stuff over the years... it's stuff I could really get into in the book as opposed to having the opportunity on TV. When I decided I was going to do something like this, I just said, 'Alright, I'm going to be unfiltered and just put everything out there."

Lopez certainly stood by his decision to "put everything out there" when he revealed to DeGeneres that he wrote about his one-night stand with a pop star that occurred many years ago in his book. Though Lopez mentions his one-night stand which he says took place in Las Vegas, the 40-year-old "Extra" host refused to disclose the name of his mystery one-night stand partner who he claims he is still "friendly" with.

"You know, my wife, who is the most important as far as her opinion to get her blessing and she's totally cool and she's knows everything, but out of respect for her and out of respect for this person, you know, I'm a gentleman and I don't want to drop names," Lopez explained to DeGeneres.

In addition to discussing his one-night stand, Lopez also talked about his father's decision to illegally transport immigrants across the border when he was child. Lopez explained that it wasn't until he became older that he was able to understand exactly what his father was actually doing.

"I was born in Chula Vista, [California], which is the border town to Tijuana, and I'm a child of immigrants," Lopez told DeGeneres. "My dad did what he had to do to take care of us. Oftentimes when we'd take little trips across the border -- and this was obviously pre-9/11 -- we'd come back right away. He'd pull over and he'd open the trunk and sometimes people would come out."
