Maite Perroni has been vocal about shooting in a dump for her latest telenovela.

Perroni and many of the cast members lived in Bordo de Xochiaca, which is known as Mexico City's biggest dump, and now that the telenovela is wrapping up, they want to give back to the community that has been so welcoming to them.

Executive producer Nathalie Lartilleux has given the residents of El Bordo items that were used during the shooting of "La Gata," notes TV y Novelas. They were given furniture and even the wheelchair that Perroni's character had to use during the show.

Perroni has previously explained that El Bordo was very important to the series.

"It might look like we are telling a story that doesn't exist, but the truth is that we are in a space that allows us to have completely authenticity," she said. "There's not a set or anything false. Everything is 100 percent real and authentic."

Perroni also explained that she hadn't gotten any vaccines to shoot in the dump, but she said she was being cautious.

Laura Zapata opened up about how much she loves being the villain.

"I love being the villain of villains," she said. "The bad ones are the most intelligent characters in the story because they are the ones that move the plot."

Zapata is the main reason that Pablo and Esmeralda are not together. She does not approve of their relationship because Esmeralda is poor and her family is rich.

Though Pablo and Esmeralda married in secret, her character annuls it behind their back. She has also gotten them to turn on each other.

But Zapata adds that in real life she is nothing like the villains she loves to play.

"Away from the cameras, I'm a human being full of compassion and loving to those around me," she said.
