Google/HTC Nexus 8 Release Date Rumors: Android 5 Lollipop Tablet Said to Rival iPad Mini 2 at $399 on Oct. 16
iPad Mini 2, move aside! There's about to be a new kid on the block. With its 64-bit chip and Android L, the Google Nexus 8 Tablet will definitely give Apple a run for its money. Following in the footsteps of the highly popular Nexus 7, the Google Nexus 8 Tablet is said to follow in its predecessor's success as well.
According to PC Advisor, the Google Nexus 8 Tablet will be larger compared to the Nexus 7. So far it would seem that the new Nexus 8 will be about the size of the iPad mini. Moreover, it might have two cameras at the back. It might also be equipped with infrared depth sensors in addition to new advancements in its software.
Improving on the specifications of the previous Nexus 7, the Nexus 8 is supposed to come with a super LCD display that will allow you to see images at a 16:9 aspect ratio. With its Quad HD resolution, the three-dimensional pictures that users can take will be sharp and precise.
With all the speculations going around about the Nexus 8, one thing for sure is that it will run on the newest version of Android, which is Android L or Android Lollipop. Moreover, the Nexus 8 is expected to have a processor that is 64-bit, which will rival the iPhone 5s of Apple. Another detail that is already known is that the Nexus 8 will be built by HTC.
With all the improved specifications, the device will be sold at a reasonable price of $399 in the United States. Google has still not yet confirmed anything, but the rumor going around is that the release date will be on Oct. 16. Until that day comes, all anyone can do is just sit and wait in anticipation of what is certain to be a hit product.
