'Grimm" Season 4 Spoilers: 'Killing Kennedy' Star Will Rothhaar to Play Bad Cop
Portland's very own Homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt and his partner, Detective Hank Griffin, will team up with a new cop with a dark side when Season 4 of "Grimm" kicks off on NBC in a few weeks.
In the new season, National Geographic Channel's "Killing Kennedy" star Will Rothhaar will play Officer Acker, reports TVLine. The actor is set to make his introduction on the sci-fi police procedural series in episode 8, and stick around for at least three episodes.
A tough new deputy will also come to town when Season 4 kicks off. According to TVLine, "Franklin & Bash" star Toni Trucks will play Deputy Janelle Farris, a strong county lawwoman who seeks Nick and Hank's help in order to solve a highway-crime scene that seems a bit strange. The "Hostages" actress will make her debut on the show during Episode 6 of the upcoming season.
It was also announced that syndicated episodes of "Grimm" will be featured on TNT starting next year.
According to Deadline, TNT has signed a deal with NBCUniversal TV and New Media Distribution for exclusive cable rights to the NBC drama that will allow the network to air episodes from the first three seasons, beginning in early 2015. Episodes from Season 4 will also be made available in next fall.
"Grimm puts a fresh spin on the traditional crime procedural with an otherworldly premise and compelling storytelling that appeal to young adults," said Deborah K. Bradley, senior vice president, head of program acquisitions, content strategy and licensing for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc, according to Deadline. "Grimm will be a great addition to TNT's lineup as the network continues to expand its reach with high-quality genre programming."
"We are thrilled that TNT will bring Grimm's clever writing and creative storytelling to its audience, continuing our strong content relationship with Turner Entertainment Networks," added Bruce Casino, executive vice president, NBCUniversal TV & New Media Distribution.
Season 4 of "Grimm" premieres on NBC on Friday, Oct. 24 at 9 p.m. ET.
