Season 6 of "The Walking Dead" is coming, but first viewers will be put through the motorcycle ride that is Season 5, according to Daryl Dixon actor Norman Reedus.

Season 5 will be a mix of both action and slower pace, Reedus said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.

"It's kind of like if you're riding a motorcycle and you're sort of stuck between third and fourth gear and you can never go down to first and slow down," he said. "You have to keep revving your throttle in case you need to like pop a wheelie again. It's kind of like that."

Although the season will have varying levels of actions, Reedus says the plot is always moving.

"We do have storylines that sort of go in a certain direction. ... And then the first part, we do have the non-stop action again, but the difference is those storylines," he said. "They never really slow down. It's like wheelie after wheelie and wheelie. It's kind of a combination of both."

Like most of the stars and production team of the AMC show, Reedus is very excited about the season premiere.

"Episode 1 is insane," he said. "I'm really curious about [it] because I just can't see how a lot of that is gonna make it to television. ... I'm very curious about that episode because it's so large and it's so good. They're all good, but that one in particular ... that was the Fourth of July, that one."

Although Season 5 of "The Walking Dead" doesn't begin until Oct. 12, AMC has already announced that the show has been renewed for Season 6.
