Tesla Motors Model S P85D Leak & Rumors: Will the New Model Include Dual Motor, Autonomous Driving and All Wheel Drive?
Tesla Motors will unveil its newest model in an effort to revolutionize electric cars.
The Model S P85D, it is rumored, will match the speeds of other gasoline-powered super cars like Ferraris, Lamborghinis and Bugattis.
The new car model will introduce new technologies, but nothing will be known for certain until Friday's revealing event. According to Engadget, Elon Musk, the car company’s founder and CEO, alluded to some rumors’ accuracy in an interview during Vanity Fair’s New Establishment Summit.
"One of the things is already there, and people just don't realize it,” Musk said, adding that people are "directionally correct," but do not "appreciate the magnitude.”

The rumors circulating are that the new car will have a dual motor, autonomous driving and all wheel drive. However, this will not be confirmed until the new car’s release.
But, sources speaking with Electrek told the site that the new car would have speeds similar to super cars on the market.
“My understanding is that the vehicle has been testing (unofficially) under 3 seconds on the 0-60,” writes Seth Weintraub. “This is incredibly fast.”
Musk teased Tesla fans and the automotive world when he released this tweet:
Gizmodo Australia speculates that not only will Tesla unveil a dual engine but will also autonomous driving. The site obtained this information from Australian Tesla customers who are still waiting for their Model S cars. They say the cars are taking longer to arrive because they are being upgraded.
On a different note, Musk had planned to name the upcoming Model 3 the Model E but Ford sued the company, according to Auto Express.
“We had the model S for sedan and X for crossover SUV, then a friend asked what we were going to call the third car,” Musk told Auto Express. “So I said we had the model S and X, we might as well have the E.”
The new model will be unveiled today in Los Angeles at 7 p.m. local time.
