Just days after Amanda Bynes was spotted engaging in bizarre antics throughout NYC and posting bizarre messages on Twitter, a report from TMZ now claims that Bynes has been hospitalized and placed on psychiatric hold at a Los Angeles hospital.

According to TMZ, Bynes' parents staged an ambush/intervention on their daughter who was initially under the impression that a car service would take her to the London hotel. Instead, Bynes' parents had the car service take her to a "Pasadena hospital ... where their lawyer, Tamar Arminak, was waiting with doctors," writes a TMZ rep.

Bynes was placed on a 5150 psychiatric hold on Friday and is currently being held for 72 hours. However, her hold duration could extend for up to 14 days, says TMZ.

Bynes' parents are also seeking to regain conservatorship over the troubled star, TMZ reports.

Prior to her hospitalization, Bynes was arrested for DUI, she was spotted in NYC performing bizarre antics, slammed media outlets for publishing "false" stories about her, and announced that she was engaged all in the span of two weeks.

Cosmopolitan also reports that the 28-year-old actress posted a series of shocking tweets on Friday claiming that her father had sexually abused her.

Bynes has deleted most of the tweets against her father and also issued a Twitter apology for her sexual abuse allegations.

However, Cosmopolitan obtained a snapshot of the disturbing tweets in which Bynes claims that her father, "called me ugly as a child and then asked me if I wanted to have sex with him and I did not know how to respond."

Bynes also wrote, "My dad fondled himself in front of me so many times that I started recording him on my phone in hopes of catching him."

Following Bynes' revelation of her father's alleged sexual abuse, Bynes' mother issued a statement to E! News insisting that Bynes' sexual abuse allegations against her father are completely false.

"[Amanda's father] has never abused Amanda or our other children physically or sexually. These accusations are absolutely horrible and could not be further from the truth! These allegations stem from Amanda's mental state at the moment," she said.

Bynes' siblings also took to their father's defense and revealed to TMZ that they are "pained" by Bynes' false allegations.
