iOS 7 Jailbreak News Update
iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s users will probably have to wait for a few more months before a reliable jailbreak - tethered or untethered.
There were many websites and hackers online who claim to be able to jailbreak Apple's latest iOS 7. However, no proven and effective jailbreak for the iOS 7 was released to date.
Jailbreaking the iPhone, or any gadget at all, requires finding an exploit. According to Extreme Tech, an exploit is a bug or other unintended vulnerability that hackers and jailbreakers can take advantage of.
Smaller exploits pave way for tethered jailbreaking while larger ones will make untethered jailbreaking highly possible. Tethered jailbreaking requires the device or the gadget to be plugged into a computer when turned on. On the other hand, untethered jailbreaking makes no use of computers. Everything that is required for the device or gadget to be jailbroken is already on it.
Unfortunately, Apple has almost always found ways to cover up their iOS vulnerabilities. This can be easily done through releasing newer version of the iOS or offering updates. The change will then turn vulnerabilities and exploits non-existent. This will render tethered and untethered iOS jailbreaks useless.
"There is no jailbreak for devices running iOS 6.1.4 (the latest version of iOS 6) and no jailbreak for any device with the A5, A6, or A7 SoC and software later than iOS 6.1.2," Extreme Tech says.
Though there are currently no existing jailbreaks for iOS 7, several hackers and jailbreakers claim to be working on it.
"Being more and more confident about an iOS 7 public jailbreak ;-)," says Pod2G.
"Jailbreak for iOS 7 5s 5c coming around 6 months," says 4S_poison.
Is the iOS 7 jailbreak ever coming around or are Apple users finally saying goodbye to customizations and third party applications this time around?
