Mexican actress Ana de la Reguera is working on upcoming Netflix series "Narcos," and she opens up about playing a member of a Colombian insurgent group.

De la Reguera is a member of M-19, which in 1974 stole Simón Bolívar's sword from a museum in Bogota, notes El Universal.

The show aims to explain how cocaine has become a problem in the United States and Europe, but this won't be the first time that de la Reguera works with weapons.

"Because of my previous projects, I have plenty of training with arms," she said. "I don't forget how to hold them. What I need to see is how to use them. I will use a gun a lot here."

She has used guns in "Sultanes del Sur" and "Asi de Precipicio."

De la Reguera will be in 10 episodes, and her character will be moving between two worlds, as she will be with M-19 and work with Pablo Escobar's group.

Her character will also speak English, she said.

"My character has a relationship with everyone, which is why she appears toward the end, with a change taking place," she said.

The actress, who will play Elisa, said she loved the theme of the show because it not only looked at the 1970s to the 1990s, but that it will also show how drug trafficking is still present today.

The show is directed by Jose Padilha and produced by Gaumont International Television. Some of the other cast members include Stephanie Sigman, Wagner Moura, Juan Pablo Raba and Adriana Barraza.

De la Reguera has plenty of upcoming projects, such as "Las Aparicio," which she says is quite good. And she will also be working on an upcoming project about the late Lupe Velez.
