iPhone 5s Sales News: New Smartphone Sold Out In a Single Day!
If you have not gotten your hands on an iPhone 5s, then you might have to wait until October for stocks to be replenished. Mashable reports that there were about 1,417 people in line to get an Apple iPhone outside the New York flagship store this week, an all-time high.
It did not even take 24 hours after the iPhone 5s was offered to the market for the entire supplies for the month of September to sell out, according to Fortune. On Friday, Apple updated their shipment schedules for those looking into making online purchase. The tech giant said that the iPhone 5s gold model won't be available until October.
It is not just the US which couldn't wait to get their hands on the new Apple smartphone. Apple also moved their ship dates to next month for those buying in other countries like Germany, France and the UK.
But in the case of the more colorful and affordable iPhone 5c, the units are available to be shipped within a day, after the original ship schedules were also pushed slightly back to at least 3 days and up to maybe a week.
Many technical experts and analysts predicted that Apple will have sold up to 6 million iPhones on the opening weekend alone, even better than the 5 million iPhone 5 units they released the last time.
And in just a few days, the two new phones have definitely exceeded everyone's expectations, as it was able to sell a total of 9 million units, Mirror UK says. Moreover, Apple is also proud to mention that there are 200 million users who are already using the iOS 7.
Apple CEO Tim Cook could not contain his happiness with how things turned out for the new phones. "This is our best iPhone launch yet - more than nine million new iPhones sold - a new record for first weekend sales," he said.
